Choose the contacts you want to know. Set how long you expect your journey to take. Start the timer when you're ready to go! Selected contacts are notified of your journey and its duration.

ARIVD runs in the background. Your location is not shared with your contacts, and no one needs to follow you on a live map. This also lowers the apps battery usage* giving you one less thing to worry about.

Running alone
Set your journey before you leave. If you finish normally, tap 'ARRIVED!'. If your device appears to stop unexpectedly and you don’t answer ARIVD’s check, your selected contacts are alerted.
Walking home after work
For the familiar late shift or evening walk home, ARIVD gives the journey a clear start and finish. You still travel normally — there is simply a backup if the expected arrival never happens.
Heading home after a night out
Choose who should know about the journey before you set off. They don’t need to watch you move across a map — they can simply know when you arrive and be alerted if you don’t.
Family and independent travel
Parents, partners and family members often care about the outcome of a journey without wanting continuous tracking. ARIVD can give independent travel a simple check-in and a backup if attention is needed.

What if it’s just your phone that stopped?
Drop or leave your phone behind during an active ARIVD journey and the same stop-detection process will notice that the device is no longer moving. When the safety check goes unanswered, your trusted contacts will be alerted and receive the device’s location — giving ARIVD a useful second role when a phone is lost on route.

Battery-conscious by design
ARIVD is not built around constantly transmitting your live location to other people throughout a normal journey. Only if needed. Avoiding unnecessary continuous location updates to servers and contacts reduces network and location activity, reducing the apps overall battery usage.
A DELIBERATE SAFETY RULE
Once an alert is raised, ARIVD can’t simply silence it.
If ARIVD alerts contacts and location sharing begins, the traveller cannot end that process from their own ARIVD app. A trusted contact must confirm the person is safe to resolve the alert.

ARIVD started as a simple journey timer and has evolved as the weak points became clearer — including what happens if a journey appears to stop long before the timer ends. The goal is not to make ordinary journeys feel dangerous. It is to give them a backup.

Does ARIVD track me throughout my journey?
During an active journey, ARIVD may use movement information and, in some journey modes, location information internally. Your trusted contacts do not normally receive a live map to follow. Your location is shared with them if ARIVD escalates into its safety process or if you choose to use SHARE LOCATION.
Do I still have to press ARRIVED?
Yes. When you reach your destination, you press ARRIVED to end the journey. If routine notifications are enabled, your selected contacts can then be told that you have arrived safely.
What happens if I forget to press ARRIVED?
If the timer expires without ARRIVED being confirmed, ARIVD moves into its safety process. Your selected trusted contacts can be alerted and emergency location sharing can begin.
What does stop detection mean?
During supported journeys, ARIVD can detect prolonged inactivity from the device and ask if you are OK. If you respond, the journey continues as normal. If you do not respond, ARIVD can alert your selected contacts and share your location before the overall journey timer has expired.
Does ARIVD know whether I'm actually in danger?
No. ARIVD can react to conditions such as a missed arrival or prolonged inactivity and can escalate if you fail to respond. It does not know why a journey has stopped or guarantee that an emergency has occurred.
Who gets my location?
The trusted contacts you selected for that journey can receive your location when ARIVD enters its emergency process or when you choose SHARE LOCATION. During a normal journey, your contacts do not need your live location to follow your progress.
Can I share my location without waiting for an emergency?
Yes. Tap SHARE LOCATION whenever you want your selected contacts to receive your location immediately. You do not need to wait for the journey timer to expire or for stop detection to escalate.
Could ARIVD help if I drop or lose my phone during a journey?
Potentially. If your phone is dropped or left behind during an active journey, stop detection may recognise that the device has become stationary. If the safety check goes unanswered, your selected contacts can be alerted and receive the device's location. ARIVD is not intended to replace a dedicated lost-device service.
Does ARIVD use less battery than continuous live-location sharing?
ARIVD is designed so a normal journey does not require your live location to be continuously transmitted to your contacts. This avoids some of the continuous network and location activity associated with live sharing, although actual battery use will depend on your phone, journey mode and the features being used.
Can I stop emergency location sharing myself?
Not from the traveller's ARIVD app once the emergency process has started. A trusted contact must confirm that the traveller is safe in ARIVD to resolve the emergency and end emergency location sharing.
Does ARIVD contact emergency services?
No. ARIVD alerts the trusted contacts you have chosen. It is not an emergency service and is not a replacement for contacting the emergency services when they are needed.
